技艺长进不得不‘恶补’京昆，这样就会形成两种非常不好的结果：一是地方戏的表演越来越向京剧和昆曲靠拢，地方特色渐失；二是不少优秀演员转学京昆，地方戏表演人才严重流失。”
以四届研究生班为例，除昆曲之外的地方戏研究生，在校期间基本是在研习理论、聆听讲座和观摩剧目，而对本剧种本专业的技艺和理论则很少涉及。这一方面是学院根本就没有这样的师资配备，另一方面，专家学者也根本就没有取得过太多地方戏研究的理论成就。如此，地方戏的研究生教学也只好靠摸着石头过河，难以与剧种的实际相结合。
办法
与地方联合办学
如何突破地方戏高等教育的瓶颈，周龙表示，学院也在考虑，今后对一些大剧种跟当地联合办学。“除了地方戏剧目课程由当地的专家、表演艺术家授课，其余的理论课教学由我们学院来承担。但是因为牵扯到文凭等问题，还需要跟当地机构进行沟通。”
一些戏曲教育专家认为，新中国成立以来，各地的艺术教育均形成了富有地方特色的一套系统和规范，尤其是地方戏表演教学，很难有统一的标准和理论。即便是表演之外的科目，比如编剧，比如导演，比如舞美，也都有自己鲜明的个性，以一个尺度来衡量和教学，必然会带来剧种的同化。客观地说，将来的教学一体化，更多的应该是导向，或者说是理念整合，而不应该是大鱼吃小鱼。
专家们认为，更为实际一些的办法是，全国的京昆教育应该以中国戏曲学院为龙头，地方戏教学则还应该强化各自为政。当然，各地主管部门应该考虑把地方艺术院校的地方戏教学的学历档次适当提高，增加学术含量和技术含量。
莫用文凭“谋杀”舞台
在风格独具的中国戏曲学院校园里徜徉，听着空气里飘动的皮黄声声，被一股浓浓的民族文化意蕴裹挟着、沉醉着。在京城的大专院校中，中国戏曲学院规模并不算大，但其整体布局和风格却是最鲜明的之一。这里托起的是正在低谷中徘徊的中国戏曲未来的希望。不夸张地说，目前活跃在京剧舞台上的中青年艺术家，大多数都在这里历练过，然而有更多的地方戏演员也同样梦想着在这里成长。
为了一纸文凭，放弃多年的舞台，听上去的确有些无奈，但没有文凭就无法在社会上立足，甚至在舞台上虽然赢得了观众的赞许，却无法在剧团里争得自己应得的演员级别，也是一个不争的事实。可以想象，为了这一纸文凭，那些无奈放弃自己专业的地方戏年轻演员们是种什么样的心情。
完善戏曲教育并使其系统化、科学化，对于已经处于危机状态的中国戏曲，对于一向以弘扬民族文化为己任的权威们，难道不该是个紧急课题吗？
而另一方面，僵化的用人制度、人事制度泛滥到了舞台上，可笑又可悲。你听说过哪个剧种、哪个流派的开创者是有文凭的？在天天喊着体制改革、天天喊着走向市场的戏曲圈，用文凭来扼杀那些有才华的年轻演员钟情戏曲艺术、坚守戏曲舞台的激情，对戏曲艺术的传承、抢救都是一种“谋杀”。
演员的成长是在舞台上，而不是课堂上。演员的价值是在舞台上获得观众的掌声，而不是有没有一纸文凭。
令人欣喜的是，戏曲教育工作者已经在关注戏曲高等教育中的问题。戏曲院团和有关部门的领导们也须把那扼杀未来、扼杀希望的“全凭文凭一刀切”， 尽快扫进垃圾堆。
