嵊州人。1978年5月进入嵊州越剧团。1979年拜傅全香为师。1984年5月进入正式成立的浙江小百花越剧团，为当时的越剧“五朵金花”之一。她的表演特色为扮相俏丽，音质甜美，韵味纯正，曾经主演过《五女拜寿》、《双玉蝉》、《大观园》、《西厢记》等。1989年离开越剧舞台远赴美国。
