2007年3月10日，国家邮政局将发行《京剧生角》特种邮票1套6枚。2006年6月，在我国首批国家级非物质文化遗产共518项中，其中共有92项传统戏剧入选，入选数量最多，其中既有昆曲、京剧、越剧、豫剧、黄梅戏等人们熟知的剧种，也有许多鲜为人知的剧种，如江西的广昌孟戏、湖南岳阳的巴陵戏等。作为一种民间文化形式，戏剧的收藏基础很广泛，而且目前投资市场远未形成，上手的门槛都不高。

以戏剧形象、符号等作为主要内容的邮票，我国已发行很多。在所有戏曲邮票中，其中最有名的就是1962年9月15日原邮电部发行的纪94M《梅兰芳舞台艺术》小型张邮票。
这枚邮票图案选择京剧《贵妃醉酒》中梅兰芳饰演杨贵妃的一幅剧照，面值3元，邮票发行量仅2万枚，是中国发行量最少的小型张，价格雄踞各小型张之首。这枚小型张在不到50年的时间里，已升值了1万余倍，近几年更是身价倍增，创下超过5万元的拍卖天价。如今已是一票难求。
从1997年以来中国嘉德、华辰拍卖行等的拍卖成交情况来看，新一枚的价格都在3万元左右，市场行情比较稳定。但是从邮品市场上报出 [1] [2] [3] 下一页
