退休之后以文会友，结交了一些京剧名流，其中有一对夫妇——朱文相、宋丹菊。朱先生是中国戏曲学院原院长、研究员，宋女士是京剧表演艺术家、宋德珠（四小名旦）之女。
2004年，我将在台湾报纸上刊登的《两出不同的蝶恋花》一文寄给朱文相、宋丹菊请教。文中提到的一出《蝶恋花》是宋德珠的拿手戏
，后易名《改容战父》。他们回信表示感谢，并寄来一册宋丹菊等著、中国戏剧出版社出版的《珠光菊影》。后来我又在央视戏曲频道看到宋丹菊讲解戏曲知识和担任全国青年演员电视大赛评委。2005年，朱文相寄来他的文集，上下两册。他博学多才，文章深入浅出，读后获益匪浅。
不幸的是，朱文相已于2006年11月15日病逝，享年67岁。宋丹菊寄来讣告和丈夫的遗照及儿子朱天的怀念文章。原来，朱文相患肝腹水，2003年后病情加重，两三年内抽水治疗数十次，但他顽强地与病魔作斗争。这些年，他是抱病和我这样一个普通戏迷保持书信和电话往来呀！朱文相非常尊重票友，不是所有的“专家学者”都能像他这样平易近人、谦虚和善的。
我深深地怀念他。
