ei，“色”读sei，“得”读dei，全诗才能押韵。
外地诗人怎样？伍永尚翻阅诗仙李白的诗，看到他的《古风》：“大车扬飞尘，亭午暗阡陌。中贵多黄金，连云开甲宅。路逢斗鸡着，冠盖何辉赫。”其中的陌、宅、赫须按陕西方言分别读作mei、zei、hei，才能押韵。
高适著名的《燕歌行》也不例外：“汉家烟尘在东北，汉将辞家破残贼。男儿本自重横行，天子非常赐颜色。”按陕西方言，“色”念sei，才押韵。另外像王维等人的诗，均有此现象。
不仅如此，伍永尚还感觉，唐诗用陕西方言才上口、有味，否则总感觉平淡，缺点什么。他认为，要想学好唐诗，必须掌握陕西方言。就像要做国际生意，需掌握英语一样。
呼吁规范方言用字
伍永尚提出，目前由于社会不重视方言，但在生活中又不可避免，目前无论是文艺作品还是一些招牌、广告，错误用字现象严重。如“牡犊娃”，牡犊是小公牛的意思，陕西人用来希望自己的儿子像牛一样结实。有人因不知怎么写，随意写作“木犊”，使意思模糊。这种现象会导致语言混乱。
经过研究伍永尚认为，关中话就是中国语言的源头，中国文化发祥地，其广博、精炼、准确、丰满、朴素、形象，有些字、词很难用几句话解释清楚，字里行间往往隐藏着远古文明的奥秘、社会变迁的记述、人类进化的痕迹。探索陕西方言广深的历史根基，丰富文字的音义内涵，沟通古今，或许一些曾被遗忘的字句会浮翠流丹。因此，在推广普通话的同时，应重视陕西方言研究，并予以规范，这样才有助于我国历史文化的研究和继承。
