剧就以一种全新的写意姿态出现了，并成为百花园里的牡丹，这是很了不起的。”“我学丑角很偶然，因为在学校的时候很活泼，老师就觉得我有些喜剧天赋，让我学丑角，其实我长得很漂亮。但在京剧中，丑是大配角，老生才是挑主梁的。我是丑角、老生一起学，再加上对各种艺术门类的理解，我将传统手法与现代文化意识融和，赋予了京剧新的表现程式。所以近20年，我不但在京剧方面很活跃，在电视上也很活跃。这次到广东我带的是《徐九经升官记》中《当官难》这一唱段，‘当官难，难当官，徐九经做了一个受气的官……’一共36句里面有75个‘官’字，特别有意思。”

“越剧百花”茅威涛
茅威涛堪称“越剧首席女小生”，现为浙江小百花越剧团的团长。她17岁从艺，22岁就夺得了中国戏剧梅花奖。茅威涛扮相英俊，气度非凡，唱腔师承尹派，又渐成一格。这次她将带来国家舞台艺术十大精品工程精品剧目之一《陆游与唐琬》的选段“浪迹天涯三长载……”。对于戏曲艺术，茅威涛称：“现在不少人觉得戏曲这种传统艺术已经落伍了，不够时尚，只有流行音乐才够时尚，这种看法是相当片面的。我们的传统艺术现在有很多创新，首先在剧本创作中加入了现代人文精神，其次在二度舞台创作上呈现国际化的特点，舞台布景也不是过去简单的一桌两椅，而是具有了多重性的特点。我经常来广州参加精品展演活动，我觉得广州的观众会看戏，品味比较高。广东省政协举办的这次名家名曲广东演唱会在提升传统文化和民族艺术的地位上非常有意义。”
